Haruki Kiyama, a Japan-U.S. based all-around artist, announces his affiliation with artist agency DR

Cool Japan TV Group's artist agency DRELLA (Head office: Meguro-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Shunji Akamine) announces that it has signed a management contract with Haruki Kiyama, a Japan-US based actor, dancer and artist.

Born to a Japanese dancer father, Isaburo Hanayagi, and a ballerina mother, Kayoi Koyama, both parents are stage performers. He entered the University of the Arts Philadelphia School of Graphic Design and graduated with a BFA in Performing Arts. He made his Broadway debut as the first Japanese performer in the worldwide popular illusion "The Illusionist".

He is currently active as an all-around artist as well as a stage actor in musicals such as Touken Ranbu (Wild Dance of Swords) and a designer for his own apparel brand, ASCENDED. In this first solo exhibition, he will showcase his first publicly exhibited works, including oil paintings and digital art, in commemoration of the 5th anniversary of the release of his teddy bear art, which has always been developed as apparel and sold out as soon as it was released. His sense of art, inspired by American pop culture where he spent his youth, and his humorous and playful sensibility bring viewers back to their childhood and make them feel warm and fuzzy. Haruki Kiyama comments

"Last year was a year in which I spent more time than ever before creating art, as evidenced by the solo exhibitions organized in Tokyo and Fukuoka. In the midst of these activities, my desire to pursue the world of art more deeply grew stronger by the day, and I have decided to join DRELLA, which is developing its art business from a global perspective, as an artist. Thank you for your continued support and I look forward to bringing excitement to the art world."
